Hello. I just downloaded the Trial Version of Sound Forge Audio Studio 17 but can't use it because it stops working immediately upon trying to open the program. I suspect it is because I am running it on Windows 7 (64-bit). Can that be the reason?
A long-shot, but try resetting Sound Forge .. Since SF crashes before you can get to the 'File> Reset all preferences and clear cached data' dialog., use the alternate: Hold down the 'Ctrl+Shift' keys, whilst launching SF, which opens the reset utility.
btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @AlbyBest.
@SP. Thank you for the mention of the Windows Reliability Monitor. I tried troubleshooting it using the Reliability Monitor and got a message that DSAArcDetect64.exe has stopped working. I think that's got to be what's causing the problem.
while holding down the 'Ctrl+Shift' keys, as you instructed, I couldn't get to the reset utility.
That is odd reset is inoperative. I am not sure about SF-17's compatibility with Win 7. Magix states Win 10-11. Try an earlier version of SF if you can..15 for instance, nothing significant was added in 16>17.
