Sad news @SP. I'm getting those pesky pop-ups again.

I checked Windows Update Notifier (gone) and Windows Autostart (no mention).

What do I do now?

@rickduley Can you check the System Tray in the Windows Taskbar? It should be on right side, next to the clock. If you click on the /\ symbol, it should display the notifier program there. Try hovering your mouse above it and right click for options. Did this help?

There is nothing in there that refers to pop-ups of any sort leave alone MAGIX pop-ups. Sadly, @SP., the MAGIX sales people have raised devious to a new level.

What else can I do?

@rickduley Does the pop-up display after your computer starts? If yes, then it must be listed in the Windows Autostart (inside the Taskmanager). Otherwise it might be a Windows service.

If it only appears after starting a Magix software, you might simply be able to deactivate news it in the program settings.

Did you recently install new Magix software? Usually you can disable the installation in the custom settings. Of course, if you simply click next, all additional programs get installed which also includes the pop-ups app.

Technically, if you look up all installed Magix software under the Windows Apps uninstall list, one of it could be the culprit.

These pop-ups arrive on Boot.

@rickduley Are these Magix Pop-ups? Do you have a screenshot with them? Or is it from another program?

If you have patched or upgraded to a later version of Magix software, check in Windows, Settings, Apps, Installed Apps that Magix Cloud Import, older name Magix Update Notifier, has not been re-installed, uninstall if present.

Additionally in the program settings check the General options tab, Hide news option, if available, is checked.

AS @johnebaker suggested, I have uninstalled MAGIX Cloud Import.

That's TWO mornings without those pop-ups.

Good things don't always last forever.

Did you check the Hide news option in the program settings?

There is no need to use OneDrive for posting images, use the Upload media icon in the comment dialog box toolbar, see image below, to upload direct to thr forum.

I am having the exact same problem. I have uninstalled all magix products and am still getting that damned desktop pop-up. Please tell me how to make it stop.

This is a software death sentence for me. I will not be using or recommending magix products ever again.

Have you both searched for Cloud Import as @johnebaker mentioned? Magix often changes the name, so I currently don't know myself what it is called.

You can also run the program installer again, because there should be listed which additional software gets installed and there you probably find the name of it.

I usually disable the installation of additional software so I don't encounter this stuff.

It's likely you installed this by simply setting a checkmark for additional software and clicking on next without reading first what gets installed.

What would be really useful is for MAGIX to notice that this 'pop-up pestilence' is annoying long-term, loyal customers. It would be even better if, having noticed, MAGIX simply stopped this persistent invasion of my PC.

I found "Cloud Import" and uninstalled it. I didn't look for it as I had previously uninstalled it. With that, all Magix malware should be off my machine. We'll see if it persists. My next step would be to try and train my anti-virus to attack it.

I have uninstalled everything except Video Pro X16. I have no idea what the rest of the stuff was doing there anyway.

I checked and nothing came up. Unless they've hidden the "magix" part of it, which is something that unscrupulous people who push desktop ads would do, i've rooted it all out. Good riddance.
