Without a lot more detail from you there is little chance we would be able to help.

Then, tell us exactly how you are trying to record (via mic - what type, USB or standard? - line, direct from an instrument, etc., etc.) and how/when you are hearing the "static". Is it heard as you record or is it when you playback the recording?
