static

Once I open Sound Forge and load a music file, my (laptop) sound system becomes static sound. The "static" sound overwhelms whatever I am trying to edit in Sound Forge; it overwhelms any random YouTube video I play; it overwhelms any Spotify music I try to play. If I RESTART my computer, my sound system is again OK ..... until I open Sound Forge and load a piece of music to edit. Then - the static overtakes the entire sound system of my laptop again. Cam anyone help?

@suze-c Static noise like white noise or like a feedback loop? Maybe this is your problem: https://www.magix.info/de/forum/reverberation--1268360/#ca1643432

It's definitely "white noise" -- just like what happens on a television when you see a "snow screen" ...... I can just barely make out the recorded vocals under all the white noise

Does anyone know of a solution for the white noise that activates the moment Sound Forge is loaded?

Is this by any chance a Dell PC ? Their audio interface is inherently forked up, even on my $2.5k XPS. There as simular post on this abnormality a day or two ago, search.

Try a different 'audio device type' in the Sound Forge menu "Options> Preferences> Audio"

Does this happen whilst in the record or record ready mode? Check "View> Record Options" and set the Monitor option to Off.

Welcome @suze-c to the Magix Sound Forge users forum.

No - it's an HP Laptop 17-b7 3xxx (LAPTOP-MSNP64SL)

The attachment is a small clip of a 75-Min "voice-guided" recording. The static sound happens as soon as I open Sound Forge. It doesn't matter whether it is set to Record or just reviewing an audio file. It happens when I go to another app (ie Youtube), also. If I "restart" my laptop, all of my audio is good again -- unless I open Sound Forge. Then, all audio is again affected by the static sound.

The playback sounds just fine to me.
Sorry I do not have a solution, The problem must be with the integration with SF. Try a different playback device type. Sound mapper, Wave driver or download ASIO4all

You can contact Magix Sound Forge Tech Support and get their take on it.

Thank You, rraud ~ I did the ASIO4all download; plus tried all the different 'audio device types' within SF. I will conttact Magix Tech Support. Thank You

@suze-c Was Magix able to resolve the white noise issue? I'm having the same problem with Sound Forge Audio Studio 15.
