i am just getting started with video 6. when i get to the import screen it asks me to connect the cables. they are connected. No option to continue. can import from hard drive.

Do you mean Rescue your Video tapes 6? - Video Easy is only up to version 4.

Have you have connected everything as instructed in the installed pdf manual and selected the USB capture device for recording?

Have you updated the drivers for the USB capture device - they are available here - you need to select the correct ones for your device.

Make sure the USB capture device is plugged in before starting the software.
