Split function won't turn off

When I open Sound Forge Audio Cleaning Lab, the Split function is activated automatically. I'm unable to turn it off and can't find anything in the owner's manual that discusses this issue. How do I turn the Split function off to do my audio editing? Application installed in home built computer and has always performed without difficulty. Recently had to replace motherboard and reinstalled all applications as a result. Windows 10 operating system.

I am not familiar with Cleaning Lab. I do see the timeline window and other section can be dragged up/down. I see different display modes in the "View" menu as well.

I do not think your PC or graphics card has much to do with it. Can you post a screenshot?

I do have both versions, 1 and 2, of SFACL installed (to which version are you referring?) but am puzzled by what you mean by "Split function". As Rick @rraud asked, can you post a screenshot of what you see so that I can compare what you are seeing with the default vies on my computer?

I tried figuring out which version of SFACL I have, but can't tell. I know it's the download version, but I don't know which build. Rraud suggested a screenshot, but in looking at the screen, all I can tell from it is the position of the cursor and the presence of the scissors. If I left click on the mouse, it splits the track at the point the cursor sits. It's the inability to turn that off that is causing the problem.

emmrecs, I don't know if it'll help, but I did find this as far as version: (Version 23.0.1.21 (DP3)). No other specific information.

"Version 23.0.1.21" is the 'build' I currently have CL-2 installed (build 24.) Go to "Help> About SF Cleaning lab" We still need a screenshot to understand your dilemma.

rraud/emmrecs - I found the function that controls a series of features, including the Split feature. It's under the Options menu and the "Edit mouse mode" drop down. It uses the letter "V" to turn it off. Things seem to be working as they should at this point. Thanks for your time and patience.

The Split feature I was discussing is the one where you can split the audio track at whichever point your cursor is located by using the "T" command. They used to call it "Cut" back in the day, and a couple of versions or so ago, the keyboard command was "S". I've got things figured out now, and have successfully edited three old albums worth of music. thanks for the follow-up.
