speed envelope/speed up/slow down video?

Hi!

Could some please instruct me (or direct to a video) how you can create a "speed envelope" for a movie clip? Basically - I have a slow motion video - I want to initially keep @ a constant 4x speed initially, the de-accelerate to 1x speed over several seconds. How would I do that?

Thanks!

@Not-Applicable Hi, what program are you using? Envelopes are in Vegas, if that is your program you're on the wrong forum, you want the Vegas forum https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/vegas-pro-forum/

I'm using magix studio 2023. I did use vegas before - but am looking to create that kind of effect in Magix... how would I do that? (actually in either package, but since I am using magix 2023 - I suppose this one). Thanks.

Hi,

Assuming that you are not using basic, but Platinum or Suite:

Select the object on the timeline, go to the Media Pool, Effects, Video Effects, Speed.

Keyframe what you want, but, depending on the amount that you want, you may or will have to ungroup the audio from the video. You can input a higher value if needed.

I presume that you know how to do keyframing. If not, watch this:

Note that if you change to the Stretch mode (shortcut 0), you can drag the end of the object in and out to change the speed. Stretch is linked to Speed. Don't forget to switch back to normal mouse mode (shortcut 6).

With keyframing:
