SpectraLayers Pro 7 - Free upgrade from 6 with Samplitude X5 Suite

reignstudios wrote on 8/4/2020, 3:12 PM

Hi,

We purchased Samplitude X5 Suite recently and it came with SprectraLayers 6 Pro with a free upgrade to SpectraLayers 7 Pro when it would be out. It is now out and we were awaiting an email with the new upgrade activation code for eLicenser to be able to use the new SpectraLayers, but we still haven't received that.

We were wondering when we could plan to receive that by email!

Thank you in advance,

@reignstudios

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums. As such, no-one here can tell you when we could plan to receive [the} email about the upgrade.

However, are you aware that SpectraLayers is now owned and manufactured by Steinberg? Perhaps you should check on their support forums about this?

@reignstudios

Hi,

Users on the Samplitude forum have reported that they are still waiting for version 7.

As per the email that you received when you purchased Samplitude Pro X5 Suite, you will receive an email with your serial number and instructions for downloading SpectraLayers 7, which should have been released mid-July, but probably later. Keep an eye on your spam folder to make sure you don't miss the email.

Magix customer service informed me today (8/5/20) that Steinberg has not yet release the serial numbers for the upgrade, but Magix is expecting in 1-2 weeks. Bart

Thank you everyone for your help, much appreciated!

Got a reply back from support saying the SpectraLayers 7 Pro upgrade emails are planned to be sent out on August 17th, 2020.

Incoming! :)

Magix Support indicated today on the Samplitude forum that they would "probably" email the SN's on Aug. 18. You need to be a member to see the link.

I suggest that you sign up on the dedicated Samplitude forum.

Thank you much for your help!

It appears the update licenses from v6 to v7 of SpectraLayers were actually deposited to the eLicenser servers. I just happened to open up eLicenser and run a usual Maintenance run, and a popup came up saying something like: "The vendor arranged so that your license for SpectraLayers Pro 6 LC be replaced by a license for SpectraLayers Pro 7 LC...". And there you go, you simply click OK and your updated license is on your dongle :)

Hope everyone has the same!

What does the LC mean? Is this a limited version of Pro?

Hi, I also purchased Samplitude X5 Pro, but I did not receive the keys for Spectralayers 7. I ran elicenser and ran a maintenance run, but did not get any notification that my license was being replaced. Can someone from Magix help please?

This question has been asked on Steinberg's SpectraLayers 7 forum:

... and LC just means that SLP7 has been acquired with another software bundle (see the screenshot link in the comment by Mudularnutter of 16 October).

I don't know about the license itself, but technically speaking there's only one version of SL Pro and SL Elements, regardless of the kind of license used to activate it.
