Spectral Layers

Hello. I'm trying to install SpectralLayers 3 on a new computer (the old one crashed and does not work properly), but I'm having issues activating it. I get the message: Registration of SpectraLayers Pro 3.0.29 requires elevated privileges. If your user account does not have sufficient privileges, you will be prompted to provide administrator credentials. After this step is completed, SpectraLayers Pro 3.0.29 will be registered for all users.

Afterward, it sends me to a screen that asks for my info:

but I don't know what the computerID would be. I tried my old computer's ID (didn't work) and I tried my new computer's ID (also didn't work). I could really use some assistance as I use this software for work every day. Thank you for your time.

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

First, I have edited your post to remove the image. With apologies, but it included the confidential serial number for your product, which should never be posted to a public forum like this one. Posting such details risks your software being hijacked and you being permanently denied access to it.

Computer ID should be generated automatically by your computer when you access that registration screen. The fact that it does not, along with the error message you quote, suggests I think that you do not have full Administrator rights on your computer. So first, can you try right-clicking on the SLP desktop icon and selecting "Run as Administrator". Does this help?

If not, I think you may need to email infoservice@magix.net and ask for their assistance. One slight problem is that SpectraLayers is no longer a Magix product but is now owned by Steinberg so it may be that you will be referred to Steinberg Support.
