Spectrum or Spectral? ( there is a difference). According to the Sound Forge Version comparison web page. Sound Forge Audio Studio does not have a spectrum analysis tool. SF Pro has a spectrum analysis tool as well as a waveform coloring option which displays low, mid, high frequencies in the waveform.
Otherwise there are spectrum analysis plug-ins available for free and otherwise. Voxengo's free SPAN is often mentioned. If you want 'Spectral' editing, iZotope's RX Advanced and Steinberg's SpectraLayers are the go-to apps for many audio pros. Both are significantly more $$$ than an analysis display app or plugin. FWIW, SpectraLayers Pro is included in the SF Pro Suite.

btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @Andrew-Derbyshire.

Thanks rraud. Yes, I'm looking for spectral editing. I'll see about trialing the plugins =D

Hi Andrew-Derbyshire...version 12 of Sound Forge Audio Studio did actually have a spectral editor, but version 12 is unlike all of the other versions of Audio Studio and was developed by the Samplitude team. The Audio Studio series returned to the traditional configuration, but the spectral editor is in the Sound Forge Audio Cleaning Lab series...so you could try the free demo of Sound Forge Audio Cleaning Lab 3 and try the spectral editor there.

Hi craig-d, yeah I purchased AS15 having watched the AS12 tutorial showing the Spectrum analysis 🤦‍♂️ it's not a deal breaker as I need the editor as it is. Will definitely check out Audio Cleaning Lab - thanks for letting me know!
