Soundtrack !

Vesku wrote on 6/16/2013, 1:00 AM

For the next version of MEP, please make the soundtrack separate from the video track again, and, in addition, make the sound curve CLEARLY visible, not just a thin line which is hard to discerne at a first glance. The sound is no less important than the video. I will be using MEP 17 as long as these improvements have not been made.

In addition, an ISO image of a video should be playable from within MEP.

Hi Vesku

This is a user forum not Magix support.

. . . . make the soundtrack separate from the video . . .

In the Program settings, Video/Audio tab you can remove the check mark from the Video/Audio on one track  option (bottom left of the pane) - new imported video/audio will now be on 2 tracks.

To change the display in a project already containg video - right click each video clip and select Audio and waveform display, Video/Audio on seperate tracks.

. . . an ISO image of a video should be playable from within MEP . . .

For me that would defeat the object of testing the ISO in an alternative player to check if it is OK - I use MagicDisc to mount ISO images and then check them using PowerDVD or Nero Blu-ray player.

Thanks, John. I was really absent-minded when I apparently addressed the Magix support on this forum :)  But I suppose they follow this thread actively, or at least they should.

It has escaped my attention that the video/soundtracks can be separated that easily, thank you very much for the tip.

I, too, have used PowerDVD for checking the ISO image, so it is nice to see that we agree that it is regrettable that  Magix has not incorporated that option in their software.

Anyway, I will wait for their next version with interest, and keep using MEP 17 until then.
