Soundpools issue

JamesDye wrote on 8/9/2020, 1:59 PM

I downloaded the Ambient Metal volumes and they don't load into Music Maker. Did I download soundpools for a different Magix product by accident? I'm really irritated if that's the case and doesn't look like I can get my money back. It's very confusing trying to find soundpools now with all these extra websites. Please help.

You probably downloaded loops from a different loop producer. Use the file manager tab to find them. Clearly they won't have the Magix info needed to load them into the loops tab.

I reinstalled MM because the file manager wasn't finding them and made file manager start to see them. They'll play in MM that way but not like other loops like you said. I downloaded Acid for the heck of it and it works there too and I think you can change notes in thecthe loops with melodyne but I don't know how to change the chords or if they can be changed. I found it through the shop link in MM but still don't know what software they're intended for. Thanks for commenting!

@JamesDye

Hi,

Where did you download the Soundpools from? The in-app Music Maker Store, Producer Planet, or a third party?

What extra web sties?

Which version of Music Maker do you have?

Reinstalling the program is not going to find your loops. You have to tell Music Maker where they are located if they are not in the default folder which is:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools

Even with a reinstall or a new version, you sometimes have to tell Music Maker where the Soundpools are located.

I'm using the current MM. An option in the software took me to Producer Planet and I thought that's where the soundpools were now. I haven't used MM in a handful of years. The first install was buggy and nothing displayed when I pointed it to the files but now it shows up in the file manager and I can drop it into MM. I'm not sure what's best to use these files if they're not MM friendly. Thanks for responding!

I think the WAV files of Ambient Metal are made for ACID and not MM.

If you get a sampler VST like Independence Free you can load the WAV files into the sampler and manipulate them a lot easier than just doing it in MM. Maybe this helps to speed up your workflow.

Hi

You still have not answered the question of where you got these loops from, if you wish members of the forum to help then please answer the questions that have been asked.

To repeat the question from @browj2 in a different way - are you referring to the Ambient Metal Construction loops from Producer Loops?

It seems to be established that the loops came from Producer Planet.

I'm not sure what's best to use these files if they're not MM friendly.

In the end though these loops are like all non specific loops that are widely used in a whole variety of DAWs. This is how loops are normally used. It's just that Magix kindly also supplies some loops that Music Maker can list in the loop section of the program because that is the origin of the program.

@JamesDye

The Ambient Metal volumes that I see in Producer Planet are for ACID, not Music Maker.

You can still use them in MM, but not in the same as loops prepared for Music Maker; use the File Manager.

Hi Graham

. . . . It seems to be established that the loops came from Producer Planet . . . .

Thanks for the reminder.

@JamesDye - my apologies - I missed that you had said Producer Planet.

John EB please don't take my lunch money lol. I appreciate all of the input. I'll have to see what I can use to manipulate the loops like the VST recommended. I downloaded the trial of Acid to see if there's more I can do. They're great loops but can't do much with them in MM. It'd be nice if it were more obvious what was meant for MM.
