so I bought the newest edition og magix music maker, and it said I could choose some instruments and some sound pools, but I cant for the life of me figure out how to get them. it was the whole reason I purchased it.
. . . . I could choose some instruments and some sound pools, but I cant for the life of me figure out how to get them . . . .
Before choosing some instruments, did you download and install all the extra content for the version you purchased - they should all be available in the Download tab next to the Store tab, you should also be logged in to the Store - your email address will appear top right of the screen when you are logged in.
Once all the extras are installed, look through what you have got before selecting the extras required.
If you scroll down to the bottom of the store tab you should see that you have 4 remaining extras to select clicking this displays what you can purchase - choose wisely as there is no going back for something else.
Music Maker is free. So, what did you actually buy, Plus or Premium?
Once installed, did you update to the latest patch under Help, Online update?
What is you version number? See under Help, About.
Either of these adds features, preset, instruments and Soundpools that you have to download and install. Some come with Plus/Premium, but for others you get credits as shown by others that you can use to obtain more. Choose carefully as you cannot undo a purchase with credits.
With the latest update all of my soundpools and instruments vanish. I have RESET and Re-scanned soundpools. During the Re-Scan the instruments scroll by then all vanish when the scan is complete. All of the store updates and downloads do the same thing. Every time I go to the downloads, the same items are there for "Downloading" again. MM version 28.0.2.47
Every once in a while I purchase the latest Premium update - just to get the "included" soundpools, instruments, etc. -- cheaper than buying them from the store.
If you mean upgrade ie you went from and earlier version of MMM to MM 2020 then you need to download and install all the extra content again, it has been updated.
Thank you. I did download all the updates of sound pools, features, etc. As the re-scan is running, looks like all of the pools and instruments scroll by, and when it is complete, the list just disappears. Craziest thing.
I had just got everything working correctly about three months ago, got prompted for the update, and boom! New look! No clutter! No nothing!
I own a lot of pools and instruments, the re-scan finds them, but the empty lists is what happens when the scan is done. Just hose few items in the instruments, not sure why they are the only ones that show up. The downloads download, but are always back to that status upon program launch.
Here is one soundpool downloaded. Shows in list, but no instruments are usable.
License issue? My HP Envy is going to HP for a screen replacement and they told me they would wipe the hard drive -- huh, really? -- anyway... I used LapLink to move my desktop PC to a newer desktop PC. Then I used LapLink to move the laptop to the older desktop PC. Is Magix seeing three installs? and therefore limiting what is happening to this "newer" pc installation?
It seems to work fine on the HP Envy and the old desktop PC. I will re-install it on this PC and post the result.
The screen shot of the About page suggests the program is not registered/activated and that you are still on the free version - this may be why the soundpools and instruments are disappearing.
This is what mine looks like when activated
I see you are also showing your email address in the images you posted - please ensure this is blanked out before posting images to prevent spam.
Thanks for that advice, never even thought about it. Fortunately it is an old account, but nonetheless the spammers are very active, not affected by the stay-at-home orders.
Here is the latest update that was just released. I enter my License Code and email address and no messages to indicate a problem. Wouldn't the instruments included with the free version show up for use?
Unfortunately, your email address is once more visible on your latest screenshot!
Have you tried logging out of the store, closing MM and then reopening it, logging into the store and trying the downloads again? You might also try Program Settings>General options>Clean up Store and Rescan Soundpools.
One other thought: if I have read your earlier posts correctly it seem that you already have MM installed and working on two other computers, is that correct? If so, you may have reached the allowed limit of activations of the software. Have you tried deactivating on one computer and then trying again on your current machine?
I already tried the first suggestion several times, so I will deactivate on the HP Laptop that is going out for repairs then let y'all know the result. I just expected that it would scold me if I installed it too many times.
Here is what shows up for MM 2018 licensing...
I do have the updates installed, but always apply this code and other versions so I can get the included purchases. I will uninstall from this laptop and try it.
Enjoy the weekend and don't spend any more time on it for now.
Well, no luck. Did the Revo-Uninstall, cleaned out my registry, rebooted, reinstalled MM2018 -- same results. I think it may be something goofy with this PC. I used LapLink PC Mover to move my programs from an old PC to this one. Wanted to save time, but I have had to re-install/re-activate/repair most of the programs/apps.
Not sure why MM is such a problem. The Soundpools show up in Samplitude 2019. I heard from Magix Tech Support - they said licensing on their end looks okay. I asked them to look at the problem I am having.
AtHomePA I am dealing with the same problem you are. So far Magix Support has been unable to indentify the cause. Please post here if you get a solution. I will do the same,
