Soundpool buttons?

So I have two unpurchased soundpools that beside the purchase buttons also say activate edition. I don't have codes to activate it so no Idea what it's about and I have the 2019 premium edition.

Hi.

I agree it is a little confusing but what you are seeing is that there are two soundpools you can add to your "collection" by first pressing the Purchase button.

I suspect the Activate Edition button is there for buyers who've bought a version of MM which includes those specific soundpools.

@Ernest-Hawkes

Hi

If you have/had a previous version of Music Maker installed, ie any version from and including MX or later, then the Activate Edition allows you to use the Soundpools, Instruments etc that came with the earlier version.

To do this you either click the Activate edition button as shown in your image, or open the Activate Edition dialog under Help, and enter the old versions serial number.

In the image above, once you have done this you can then download and install the soundpool(s) if they are not already installed.

Hi Ernest,

Please also check the e-mail I just sent in response to your support ticket.

In a nutshell, just in case anybody else is seeing this same behaviour: The "Activate Edition" works exactly in the way John described above. However, you should never see in on a soundpool item. Unfortunately, only features and instruments can be unlocked with serial numbers from older products.

I'll run the screenshot above past the devs. I assume it may have been a temporary issue. As of right now, I cannot replicate it here. Only says "Purchase" for those soundpools on my end. A deletion of the local cache via the "Clean up Store" in the program settings might be in order for things to show up correctly on your end again.

Cheers!

@ralftaro

Hi Ralf. Thank you for your post.

I think the problem of the Activate Edition button may be somewhat "random"; i.e. some soundpools show it, others do not. Here's a screenshot of that specific "bundle" on my computer:

I've not had time to check whether any others also show that button.

@emmrecs

Hi Jeff,

Just for the sake of completeness: I had run this past development, and they did assure me that this is a known bug regarding dependencies in the editorial tile. Supposedly, this situation of inappropriate buttons (in this case "Activate edition") showing up on the in-app store info page for an item happens, if you're in a different section (e.g. "editions") of the store, and then use an ad campaign link from the tile with editorial content at the top of the store to jump straight to the soundpools. Still didn't enable me to replicate the problem here. My soundpools always just show the "Purchase" button. Might depend on the specific campaigns that are currently being run in the editorial tile. I trust they know what they're talking about, and their fix will address this. 😎
