Soundforge pro 12 Questions/Issues

I have been enjoying Soundforge for many years and took advantage of the Version 12 offering primarily to benefit from the 64 bit architecture. I have run into a couple of issues which may be my fault but have not been able to solve them.

1 - Cannot find how to get audio input levels to display prior to recording (in "armed" mode) or while recording. Levels display only on playback. This makes setting up input levels very difficult. If this capability has been intentionally dropped I'd recommend restoring it.

2 - Unexpectedly, the Channel meter bars have disappeared, leaving only the window that's supposed to contain them visible on the right side of the monitor. I was able to use the hardware and loudness meters as a substitute but they will not dock in the right places. The loudness meter has moved itself to the top of the window showing the digitized channels and is so large it forces the the rest of the view down making it impossible to access any of the controls there (such as the arm/record buttons). I cannot find a way to resize or relocate this meter. It cannot be dragged or resized.

I'd be interested to know if anyone else has experienced these or similar problems and, if so, are there solutions? This is a new product so if these are bugs I'm sure Magix will soon fix them and I can wait.  In the meantime, I have gone back to Soundforge Pro 11 which works perfectly.

Update - I got the channel meter bars working but no idea way they disappeared to begin with. I'm OK now with Issue #2. I remain flummoxed how to get level monitoring pre/during recording.

Prior to Magix acquisition, SCS changed the record UI in SF Pro 11 (and IMO, it sucks big time) and also eliminated the handy 'Remote' option. They also changed/screwed up the Plug-in chainer (now that sucks too) </end rant>

SF Pro 11 & 12 requires opening "View> Record Options" to open the window that has the record volume meter, then enable: "Arm Record" or "Record"

Regarding the playback meters, right-click the meter to change the many available options. If the peak range was set high (-12 to 0.0dBFS for instance) and your levels were mostly below -12dB, you would not see much or any activity.

Much thanks rraud. That worked. Don't know how I overlooked it.

That stumped me as well when I first used SF Pro 11. Reminds me of SloTools, why change a simple intuitive one-step operation to two or three steps?
