I recently installed SF13 Pro on a new computer (Windows 10), and have lost the ability to read mp3 files or save mp3 files.
I’ve rebooted several times, tried to drag and drop, made sure .mp3 was an audio format I’d selected to associate with SoundForge, etc.
Other applications have no problem with the same mp3s, and these are audio files I’d created myself, so it’s not a DRM issue.
When I try to open a folder with mp3s in it, with the “all files” option, mp3s don’t appear in the folder (there’s no “mp3” filetype option either); when I try to drag&drop it shows a circle with a slash through it and won’t let me drop; when I try to save a WAV or something as mp3, there’s no .mp3 file type in the drop-down list.
SoundForge 13 Pro worked fine on my old laptop.
Is there a patch or something to add the missing functionality?
If this issue has been addressed, could it be added to the FAQs and circular “support” options on the site?
Is Magix Tech Support ever really open? How do I contact them?
I’m in the middle of a big project and not being to open my mp3 samples (one of my field recorders only used that format) is slowing us down. I’d be happy even knowing a good 3rd party app that would do high-quality and reliable conversion.
Thanks!
