I think there is a slight crackling noise also.

Hi and welcome to the user to user forums.

There may be two causes of the crackling.

First, if you have recorded more than two channels of audio. Movie Studio will only cope easily with a stereo soundtrack consisting of one two channel sound track. To deal with more than one track of two channels you would need to upgrade to VPX. It is possible to get to a workaround within Movie Studio but it is a long and drawn out process. It is easier to use a program like Handbrake to mix the audio channels down to stereo first. Also surround sound export is not possible unless using wmv as a rendering option.

The sound track, even if split from the video track will only show as one two channel track, even though it may contain more.

The other reason you may be experiencing problems is you may have to increase your program settings for playback. Only use the wav driver option and try increasing the sampling rates first until they max out. If that does not work, then try increasing the buffer sizes by one buffer at a time. I would suggest doing the alterations that way as increasing the audio buffers first will make the program respond slower to playback demands more than altering the sampling rates first.

Ray.

In addition to what Ray has written, if you do literally mean MEP 2014 then there can be no guarantee that it will function properly under any recent version of Win 10 or 11.

Right. It`s ok. The bitrate on the videos are 191. So i wonder if I should pick 192 or 160?

Thanks

Hi.

If you wish you could cross grade to VPX 14 at a much lower price using the upgrade service. Look at the right hand side of that webpage for that offer. You will possibly also get to keep your copy of Movie Studio although I'm not 100% sure about that.

192 Kb/s is the normal rate for 48kHz stereo sound files to maintain quality.

Handbrake is found here.

If the buzzing sound only occurs on the final rendered export but not when playing the file inside Movie Studio it is because the sound file is clipping. Try lowering the volume of the audio channel so the output on the master channel does not exceed -.01db when looking at the base of the output meter.

You could add the limiter to the output master effects for good measure but there may be a bug in the recent version of the program that stops the master effects channel from retaining the setting. I have raised that with Magix and awaiting a reply.

If it is occurring within Movie Studio on playback then the problem may reside in the actual recording from the game play. In which case lower the record level in the screen recorder so as it just misses going into the red.

If it is something else you can upload a clip to Google drive with a download link for us to try out and see what the problem might be.

Hi

For issues with video files it is useful to have a MediaInfo analysis of one of the clips causing the issue, download and install MediaInfo and analyse one of the clips causing the issue and post the results, see this tutorial on how to setup MediaInfo and analyse a video clip for all the data required.

Hi.

The Handbrake conversion works well in Movie Studio but has only the stereo channel output.

The original file with a recorded eight sound channels doesn't give any audio as the audio format is not recognised by either Movie Studio or VPX.

What screen recorder are you using?

I use OBS studio with no problems using the aac Default Audio Encoder.

Can you change the audio output of your screen recorder?

Yeah seems the handbrake took care of most issues. The issues that are left with importing the video that i used handbrake on. Was issues i had while recording Also.

But the recordings seem ok. So i wonder if the videos i export from Magix video studio will be ok to. Perhaps if I do Handbrake on them then just render projects after they should Also be ok.

Do examine them Ray. I apreciate it again Ray.

I use Nebula screen recorder. Looks a lot like OBS.

As the video side of things seems fine you could fine tune the audio only.

This is my OBS audio settings.

What do recomend to do in handbrake to finetune the sound?

@SSB

Unfortunately this is something I have never had to do.

I have personally never used a file that is not compatible with my editing programs. My screen recorder is set up to not give me problems and my cameras all produce standard video files. I hate the idea of another link in a chain where alterations to the original could lead to a degradation in quality as any conversion from one format to another often means an amount of compromise no matter how small.

I would think if there is an mp3 or wav option, they should be safe enough to convert to but hopefully another member looking through this thread can be or more use to you. I'm sure @johnebaker or @AAProds will have some useful ideas.
