Sure.. but SF will not decode or encode some Quicktime codec types. Installing QT Alternate or QT Lite (which I think is the same codec) should support those QT file types in Sound Forge without installing the QT-7 player package.

addendum; as I recall, installing Media Player Classic-Home Cinema (MPC-HC) will also install the QT codec that is compatible with SF. Installing the K-lite codec package is usually not recommended, especially if you have Vegas.
