Sound Forge won't install on new computer.

I bought Sound Forge 10 many years ago and used it on my previous computer as recently as about a month ago. I recently got a new computer with Windows 11 and can't install SF10 on it. I get passed all of the questions (I think) and then I get a message that says "Download failed. Please make sure you are connected to the Internet and try again.". I am clearly connected to the internet. I have my antivirus, firewall, vpn and adblocker all turned off.

If temporarily disabling anti-virus apps does not work with Magix, you could try downloading SF-10 from the SCS (Sony) archive which has all the SCS SF versions, builds, ect..
I think the final version of SF Pro 10 (d) was build 507. If you need the iZotope's Direct X Mastering Suite II installer which was included with SFP-10, PM me. You will still need iZ's unique activation code though. The NR-2.0 noise reduction suite that as also incldued is in the archive as well if it is not installed it by default w/ SFP-10. You can also of the get a discount with your SF-10 serial if wish to upgrade to SF-15.

btw @David-Royal, seasons greetings and welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community.

hi @sven-v and @David-Royal...if it is because it says 'download failed'...you need to check two things:

1) check that you are running the latest installer available for it (it's in your Magix User Account)...but in the download manager, make sure to UNCHECK the iZotope Master and Repair Suite...the installer for that is outdated, as that plugin has long been discontinued and is unsupported. This will block the installation of SF, so you should ONLY check the box to install Sound Forge (in both Pro and Audio Studio 10).

2) the other thing is to make sure you've enabled all of the older versions of Microsoft .NET Framework. You can check this by going to your windows file explorer and clicking Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features On or Off, then make sure that the box labeled '.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) is checked, and then restart your computer.  This should fix the problem.

i hope this helps! this goes for basically all of the Sony made versions.
