Sound Forge Pro 10.0e (Build 507) activation - Win 10

Hi everyone I'm a newbie here and would appreciate any help I can get. I own both Sound Forge Audio Studio 14 and Sound Forge Pro 10. I had to reinstall Pro 10 as it started acting strange, but now it appears that Magix activation software will not recognize my computer ID despite the fact that I've had this installed in the same PC since 2017. Can anyone point me in the right direction or give me an idea as to how I can resolve this issue?

Hi @Bridges and welcome to the Sound Forge community.

So, Sound Forge Pro 10 installs normally, but you can not activate it?
Can you post a screenshot of the error message?
Do you have your Pro 10 serial number?

The computer ID really should not matter as long as you are entering the serial number accurately. SCS (Sony) versions of SF can be activated on multiple PCs, Magix versions are limited to two at a time.

There is a recurring 'Elevated Privilege' issue with Sound Forge Pro 10 which occurs with some Windows10 updates, but the symptoms you describe differ from that.

rraud, thank you for responding. I did a system restore so SF Pro 10 is installed and activated. However I'm still getting the error messages that made me uninstall it in the first place, here they are.

Before SF 10 opens:

I click OK but when SF 10 opens I can't load any audio files, I get this message:

I do not recall ever seeing or reading of the "Show me Component" error.

You can try resetting SF Pro 10 to the default installation state.. or.. uninstall SF-10 with third-party uninstaller that has options to remove leftover registry entries, folders and other pertinent data the Win uninstall leaves behind. 'Revo Uninstall' is highly regarded by many folks The 'Pro' version won't break the bank but the free version is adequate for most folks. Then reinstall Pro 10 and re-activate.

Make sure your Pro 10 serial number is available prior in uninstalling. It should be in Magix Service Center> My Products" or in the Sound Forge application, "Help> About Sound Forge".

Hi Rick (rraud),

I tried resetting SF Pro 10 to it's default settings and that didn't work, and I was a bit skeptical about reinstalling considering I had issues activating it before. However I remembered that after my initial post about not being able to activate SF Pro 10, JohnEB sent me an email suggesting I change my email. At the time it didn't make sense to me but suddenly now it did. The email address I have in SF Pro 10 was different to the one used for my Magix account. Once I corrected that I reinstalled SF Pro 10 and was able to activate it. I am now up and running again.

Thank you for all your time and help.

Bridges (Trevor)

Glad you are up and running again Trevor, I marked your above comment as 'the solution'.
