Sound Forge glitching.

I haven't been able to properly use the program all morning. Every time I interact with the program, I get a message "Processing time. Building peaks for (file name). .xxx seconds." I've restarted my computer. I've shut down my WiFi and rebooted. No use. It's a real problem. What's happening? What's the fix? I'm on deadline for a show due to air this afternoon.

Does the same issue occur with different audio file formats? (Wav for instance)
Try deleting the <.sfk> waveform companion file (if there is one) (though I doubt it will help)

Otherwise, try resetting Sound Forge and clearing the cache. 'File> "Reset all preferences and clear cached data". Be aware that most of your custom preferences will be reset the factory defaults.
If you cannot open Sound Forge to access the 'File' menu, hold down the 'Ctrl+Shift' keys, whilst launching SF, which will open the reset/clear cache tool.
