Sound Forge Download link missing and no response from Customer care

Work2018_SoundForge wrote on 9/26/2018, 5:40 PM

Is Magix trying to force and arm twist existing license holders of Sound Forge to upgrade. I created a ticket about 5 days ago asking for the download link for Sound Forge (which was previously available in the Sony website), and has not got any response yet. There is no customer care phone number for Magix, nor are the previous Sony customer care numbers operational.

For sure this appalling customer service creates doubts in the mind of anyone genuinely wanting to upgrade or purchase a Magix software product. Is anyone at Magix listening at all?

Reproducing below the email sent last week:

For my Sound Forge Pro Mac 1.0 software, i am unable to reinstall it.  My Machine ID is --------------- and I also have an authentication code.

Can you please provide a resolution asap. I have been searching for your customer care number, and it does not have any. I am shocked that such a premium product has no customer service line. I have a lot of dependency with my Sound Forge pro software, and would like to install it on my system as soon as possible.

Please provide me with a resolution, and atleast a live customer care contact number.

In summary, I am looking for the following:

- Download link for Sound forge Pro as it was available previously

- Support for install if I run into issues

- Alternative if the support for my version does not exist with Magix

- Relevant forums for discussion.

Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

It seems you are asking for a new download of SF Pro MAC version 1.0. Is that correct? Are you aware the "current" version is 3.0?

I wonder whether Magix, which took over the SF line from Sony in, I think 2014, actually has any copies of SF Pro MAC 1.0 actually available?

It may be your only option is to consider upgrading to the current version?

Thanks Jeff. But I have not got any response from Magix on this. I am concerned about their customer service even if I upgrade to Magix. I want to know if they have Sound Forge version 3.0 for download. Have they provided a link for this?

Hi again.

Thanks for the update. As per my response in another thread you posted to, I have asked the forum admin to ask support to respond to your question. I don't know yet what might happen!

This page offers a free trial version of Sound Forge Pro 3 for MAC; I have no idea what "limitations" are placed on this trial version!

Hello,

My question to Magix is really simple - I purchased Sound Forge 1 for Mac in 2012. I just wanted to know where the download link for this version is. The link used to be available in the Sony website, which is not available anymore on Sony website, and neither on Magix. And Magix is not responding at all. This is what shocks me. Do you know any place where I could download the previous version?

Much appreciated!

Sorry about the late reply. Magix - whether they respond to you or not - doesn't support Ver 1.0. It's out of the cycle now days. I however do agree with you about the lack of customer service skills - Magix doesn't respond often to Mac people. My Guess is they are going to kill Sound Forge for Mac pretty soon. They don't like Apple IMO.
