An error occurred during communication. You may not have an Internet connection. Please check the following requirements for a correct connection.

- Check if your Internet connection is correct (modem, network cable ...).

- Check the settings of your Internet connection in the control panel (network connections).

- Make sure, with the help of your network administrator or Internet provider, that the current configuration is correct."

@Robert-Schwartz

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

First, can you please read this post and give us ALL the information requested there? This could be very relevant to your problem, especially the error message comment about "configuration".

Second, what Antivirus and Firewall are you running? It is more than possible that one or other of these is blocking communications between your computer and the Magix servers. Have you tried turning them off/temporarily disabling them and then retrying the installation? I accept turning them off should not be necessary but their "input" is often the cause of problems like the one you are experiencing. However, the fact that you are seeing the same problem on two different machines does suggest something is blocking the connection.

Thank you for your reply.

Yes I have turned off all security including Windows firewall, Norton, and did as instructed in the email magix sent. I have been using sound forge for 20+ years and never had these connection problems before.

I went so far as to buy the software again twice, still no help.

Im pretty sure that its a problem with the 2 computers Im trying to install it on, but havent been able to get it pst that point.

@Robert-Schwartz

Perhaps also tell us about the computers, as per my previous post?????

If, by chance, you are still running Win 7 there are default security protocols which may need to be changed.

@Robert-Schwartz

Thanks.

I suspected you might be running Win 7. Have you seen this page which lists the minimum requirements to run SFAS 365? It clearly says Windows 8 and 10. I'm almost certain Magix has now dropped all support for Win 7, in line with what Microsoft themselves have done.

Is there a way for me to use the previous versions of Sound Forge? I have bought all of them already. It doesnt pay for me to upgrade all my computers from Win 7 when they are running all my other apps just fine.

Is there a way for me to use the previous versions of Sound Forge?

You can install and activate older versions of Sound Forge providing you have valid serial number(s). Most SCS (Sony) 32 bit versions of Sound Forge run w/o issue on Win 10 and prior.

Multiple versions of SF can also co-exist on the same PC w/o issue.
