Sound Forge Audio Studio 10 and mp2 files

I am trying to open mp2 files in Sound Forge Audio Studio 10 but it keeps asking for QuickTime to be installed. I installed QuickTime and it still will not open the files just keeps asking for QuickTime to be installed. It will open mp3 files ok just not mp2 files which are the files I have to work on. I tried installing K-Lite Codec Pack and didn't make any difference.

I have Sony Sound Forge Pro 11.0 on the same machine and it opens the same mp2 file without a problem.

The machine is running Windows 10...

I'm not sure if the Sound Forge Audio Studio version can open or create an MPEG 2 file. Sound Forge Pro has the MainConcept MPEG encoder/decoder. If SF Audio Studio does have it, try re-installing.
