Welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @Wayne-Thompson, What format are you saving the file as? It is a good practice to record, edit and save as a PCM <.wav> and encode an MP3 or other lossy formats afterwards
A sample rate mismatch will typically cause faster or slower (and pitch) if the playback rate is different than the file's.
44.1kHz is basically the standard sample rate for audio only. Audio-for-video is generally 48kHz. If the file is other than than 44.1k (or 48k), use the resample tool in SF's 'Process' menu.
Otherwise your PC's sound card or playback app, could be locked to a specific rate.
