sound forge 14 will not play audio

I have down loaded Sound Forge 14 and recorded a vinyl record.  When I cut out some dead air and tried playing the track to see out it sounded it would not play.  After saving the file it would play but after another edit on the same file it would not play again until I saved the file. My old version I did not have to save the file after every edit.  Do I have a glitch with my program?

That is definetely no normal behaviour. It should play without saving.
Probably you have some issues with your temp folder. I strongly recommend to locate the temp folder on the same drive as your record projects.
For SF's temp folder look in options -> preferences -> general tab. below all the check boxes ist the entry for the temp folder.

I found the Temp Folder, I guess I am not sure what to look for that would be wrong.

Which version of SF-14 and what are the record attributes set to?

Sound Forge 14.0 64 bit,  I am not sure what the record attributes are set to, where do I find that?

Sound Forge 14.0 ... Audio Studio or Pro?

In SF Pro 14, look in "View> Record options". I am not very familiar with AS, it may be similar.
