Recorded a 20 minute short story all the way through. As I was listening to the playback to make edits, the sound rate would speed up and slow down randomly, but always had a set rate of 1.00.
What the flip is going on? Did I do something wrong on my set up? I would appreciate some input.

What version of SF? Are there any active plug-ins being used? What file type and attributes was the audio saved as

Can you upload the file (or part of it) to WeTransfer, Dropbox, Google or other cloud drive for inspection?
Sorry I never answered. It is Sound Forge 13. No plugins.
