Sound Forge 11 Windows 11 errors

I've been using Sony Sound Forge 11 on my windows 7 and 10 pc's ok but encountered the .net framework issue trying to install it on my new w11 laptop. I understand, from another thread, this can be installed manually, can anyone elaborate on that? (where to get it, how to install it)

I then downloaded and installed the Magix version and am getting a couple of error messages:

When I start it I get this:

It starts, but when I loaded a video and tried to play it I got this:

))

The task manager didn't show any obvious memory issues but I had Vegas & Chrome & other things running so rebooted and tried again with only Sound Forge running and got the same message.

I have 32 GB ram, several terabytes of free disk space, 8GB gpu memory... (Sorry don't have my system info in my signature yet.)

The video itself is a 4K, profile oriented, cell phone clip...maybe this is too much for this old version?

@3D87C4 Wasn't Sound Forge 11 a 32 bit application? In that case it can only use about 1.5 GB RAM (theoretically up to 4GB but on Windows its limited because it's Windows).

There are 4GB patch tools out there which can increase the useable RAM, for example https://ntcore.com/?page_id=371 That might help.

You can enable older .Net packages with the function called Turn Windows Features on and off.

Hi

. . . . video itself is a 4K, profile oriented, cell phone clip . . . .

If the video encoding format is h.265 (HEVC) then this is not suopported by Sound Forge 11, the video will have to be converted to a supported format - AVI, WMV, MOV, MPEG-1 or MPEG-2.

If you decide to upgrade to the latest version of SF whcih dies support Windows 11, see the supported file formats here

Thank you @johnebaker. I'll keep my eye out for a sale on a newer version.

Welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @3D87C4.
You can purchase the current version of Sound Forge (Pro or Audio Studio) at a discounted 'upgrade' price with your Sound Forge 11 activation serial code. Just choose "upgrade" as the purchase option and have your SF-11 serial handy to enter.
You do not have to uninstall SF-11 either. Both versions will co-exist on the same PC w/o issue.
