Sound Forge 11 Crashes

Using SF 11 Build 299. Intermittently, it crashes during recording. When I reopen, it asks me if I want to recover the files...I say yes, but SF will not open any of the saved files. "An error occurred...file is an unsupported format". The crashed files are saved as .tmp files. Sweetwater, in their SF tutorial section, says to rename the files with a .wav extension. Same message. Any insight as to why this is happening? I can't find any other posts about this specific reason for crashes. Thank you!

Don't know why it crashes whilst recording. This is not common with any version of SF. Something to do with the sound interface most likely. What card and what SF record device parameter is it set for? "Options> Preferences> Audio> Record device". Try 'Classic Wave Driver', that seems to always work.
Otherwise, for your previous temp files, change the extension to <.raw>, in which SF Pro 11 should open them.
