Check "Options> Preferences> VST Effects" to confirm the penitent default or alternate VST search folders are selected and to see if plug are listed and check-marked in "Select VST effects to be available as audio plug-ins"

I am not familiar with Wave V11 plugs. If the are VST-3 they will not work in SF10.

Thanks. I've added all the possible folders, and they still don't show up in the SF list. I'd be very surprised if they'd gone strictly to VST3. I don't remember the Waves installer offering plugin type options for installation, but I'll try to run it again.

@sean-mccoy @rraud

Although I'm not a Waves user/owner I'm pretty certain that most, if not all the V11 plugins, are VST3 only.

Hmm, I can't find a single mention of VST2 or VST3 anywhere on the Waves website. But there are V9, V10 and V11 folders installed. I'll try some different folder scans and see what happens.

Okay, I still don't know what the deal is with the VST2 vs VST3 thing, but once Version 11 plugins are installed, the only way to get access to them in SF10 is to use Waves' legacy installer to manually install V9.92 or V10 plugins. I did that, pointed the VST scan to the 9.92 Waveshell folder, and they're all back. Of course, they all showed up twice in Pro Tools because Waves doesn't allow you to specify which format(s) to install, but I just had to move the 9.92 Waveshell into the "unused" plugin folder. All a big hassle, but it seems to work.

After a conversation with Waves, I can confirm they have gone strictly 64 bit and have dropped VST2 support, but will continue to provide legacy installers for 32 bit programs such as the earlier Sound Forge versions. And the V11 licenses are valid for the earlier versions.

Thank-you @sean-mccoyfor providing that info.
