I've installed a brand new sealed copy of Sound Forge 8. When I enter the number on the first page of the manual as instructed, I get an error saying it's not a valid number. I am legally blind and have used this program for years, It's easiest for me to see and intuitive. Can anyone please help?!

@MereRoar

Hi

. . . . I've installed a brand new sealed copy of Sound Forge 8 . . . .

Where did you get this from and when?

Sound Forge 8 is very old - released in 2005 and was a Sony product for which the registration servers at Sony are no longer available.

IIRC only version 10 and/or 11 were transferred to Magix in their acquisition of the SCS products which means v8 is not supported.

@johnebaker @MereRoar I believe that all old licenses were transfered to Magix.

You need to contact customer support at infoservice@magix.net and ask them for assistance. It's likely you need an updated installer which contacts the Magix registration servers instead of the Sony registration servers, which were shut down by Sony.

Yes. download the final build of Sound Forge 8 (build d) from Magix. install and try activating (on-line). If you cannot download SF-8 from Magix. We can give you an alternative download option,
SF-8 is not officially supported by Magix but they will usually help with activation issues.
That said,you should consider the current version of Sound Forge (Pro or Audio Studio).

btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @MereRoar.
