Sound file cutting out

Maureen-Boutilier wrote on 2/12/2020, 2:31 PM

I’m using SF Pro 13 Build 131 Win. 10 Im having 2 problems during recording One, my wave file will stop then come back. Fortunately when I play back nothing is lost It has kept recording the whole time and the wave just joins itself. The 2nd is while recording the recording just stops at various times the curser keeps moving. Sometimes 4 min or 12 or 9. I have read the manual I have checked settings I cant find the prob. Thank you

Welcome to the Sound Forge community @Maureen-Boutilier

You are stating, the waveform display intermittently stops building or the sound stops in the monitor? The file plays normally afterwards though?

What 'audio device' are you using for record and playback? "Options> Preferences> Audio> Audio device type"

I am not sure.. you could experiment with different record buffer settings. "Options> Preferences> Audio> Record"

I really appreciate your rapid reply.
I was was having both issues. To fix I needed to convert my channel from stereo to mono then change my bit depth to match my Audio Device.
yay! Thank you!

Turns out I still have one prob. While I’m recording everything starts out fine. Wave display is being created. Then for example at this last time it was 00:21:50.557 the curser was moving but no wave display I still thought it was recording for another 5 minutes but it was blank after that time, and there wasnt anything there to play back.
