Sound collection

nigel-d wrote on 7/26/2020, 4:23 PM

I have just downloaded the free version of Music Maker after using a previous version a few years ago. I have since tried to load my old sound collections via the add soundpools but although the soundpools and individual loops appear, I can neither sample the loop or drag them across to the timeline. A "cannot be read by MMM, please make sure that the drive is not full or wire protected "message appears. I can drag them from the desk top and use the file manager tool for individual loops but not the add soundpools? Is it because the sound collections are an old format? Any help would be gratefully received.

Second, MM2021 (aka version 29.0.1.16) is the first 64 bit release of the app. Soundpools which were accessible in earlier versions will not be accessible now since they are 32 bit. With the purchase of the Premium version comes a 64-32 bit bridge, which allows those older soundpools to function in the latest version. The same is true for Instruments.

Hi Jeff. Surely that can't be right. The vst bridge is for instruments. Audio is different. The loops are 24 bit/44.1khz as far as I'm aware. The 32/64 bit thing is not relevant to the loops.

Hi Jeff, Thank you for the information not just on my question but on the forum in general, Nigel

@nigel-d

. . . . Is it because the sound collections are an old format? . . . .

As @emmrecs said in his now hidden post - it is possible that your Soundpools use an older file format, mxcogg, which the latest versions do not use or recognise.

Check if the file extension of the audio loops in the Soundpools is .mxogg, they should be in the folder

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools

if they are they cannot be used.
