Hi and welcome to the user to user help forums.

I'm sorry but can't replicate your problem. Both have exported and with hardware acceleration from my nvidia graphics card.

It helps us a lot if you can put the complete spec's of your machine as well as operating system version and build in your signature as the problem could be anything and could save us asking a lot of questions to get to the bottom of your problem.

If you can read this post for what we require.

Thanks for getting back I submitted a ticket to magix but so far no further forward with that I did get the transition to work late last night on a different video I was making and because my footage was in hlg I had to export in hvac codec and the transition worked. The other video where it would not be put in while exporting was a mp4 export so why it has worked doing a hvac and not a mp4 I don't know. I have never had any issues with transitions before but had never used those 2 paticular transitions.

Hi Jim.

I can see not technical reason for the transitions not to work.

My own exports were to MP4 at 4K.

It could be a driver issue, the latest Studio driver from nvidia is 560.81 and the one I am using or it could be an optional Windows update to the NET Framework is required but I'm not sure about that so I will add @johnebaker who has better technical recall on such matters than myself.

Hello Jim,

It is possible that the transition effects file is no longer installed correctly. Try reinstalling these transition effects. This is how you do it:

  • Go to: Control Panel or Settings / Apps / Installed apps
  • Remove Magix Video Deluxe Premium (transition effects)
  • Start Video Deluxe and go to: Help / Install additional content
  • Now the Transition effects can be reinstalled.
  • Restart Video Deluxe and see if the problem is solved.

Hi

I cannot replicate the issue for both HEVC and h.264 (mp4) export to 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) or FullHD (1920 x 1080) on my laptop, which is the same CPU and GPU's as you have, using any combination of CPU/GPU for the Import, Processing, Export options in the program settings, Device options tab.

. . . . my footage was in hlg I had to export in hvac codec . . . .

Looks like you have spell checker (auto correct?) turned on, my source videos were HEVC 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) 50fps, 10 bit (HDR) D-Cine.

Drivers for my RTX 2060 are 560.70 so behind the current version mentioned by @CubeAce.

Hi.

John Baker did not answer the question I asked about whether NET Framework is important to MMS / VPX or not (He may have missed it) but I make sure my versions of NET Framework are up to date as other programs I run do rely on it.

This site explains how it is used to allow separate components within a program to communicate with each other.

It is a part of Windows that I think is optional (Not sure as I have always had it) so you may not have it or have the latest versions. You can check in Windows Settings / Update and security / View update history. You should then see a list like this one.

If you don't have the latest patches on your machine it wouldn't harm to download them and try them out if you find no other solution.

It could also be the solution that @Bol gave but then why is it showing working within the program?

One question comes to mind. Have you set a custom bit rate for your exports to reduce the overall file size or are you using one of the presets in the 'Export As' section?

Ray.

Hi Jim, Ray

Hi

. . . . did not answer the question I asked about whether NET Framework . . . .

and

. . . . fully up to date on windows and net frame work . . . .

If the Windows 11 install is up to date the installed .NET Framework should be 4.8.1 for Windows 11 (13th Aug 2024) should already installed. With .Net 3.5 uninstalled I still cannot repeat the issue.

I have searched for, and updated to, the latest drivers for the RTX 2060, the version number is 561.09 dated 11th Sept 2024, I use the Game Ready Drivers following advice from Magix.

After the driver update I still cannot replicate the issue.

. . . . now its showing a red dot in some of the transitions after I play them . . . .

Assuming you mean the red dots shown in the image below, they indicate which transitions have been applied to the video/images on the timeline. Previewing should not add a red dot to the transition icon as shown below.

Hi.

I have tried everything I can to not make the transitions work. Extended and shortened the transitions from super fast to extremely slow, exported at different frame rates and resolutions to the files used. Every time they have both rendered even if the results were not always smooth.

The only thing I can think of is if at any point settings were changed or not set in the nvidia control panel that are needed. Mine is set as follows.

If you are using any other setting try going to the manage 3D settings and set the Magix program to it's defaults using the restore button.

While I'm not convinced this is the case it's another elimination step and something to rule out as possible cause.

. . . . now its showing a red dot in some of the transitions after I play them . . . .

Assuming you mean the red dots shown in the image below, they indicate which transitions have been applied to the video/images on the timeline. Previewing should not add a red dot to the transition icon as shown below.

Hi Ray

@jim-thorley

Ray.

Hi Ray just done these steps the only thing that i see was mine was set to performance instead of quality so i will try this out thanks

@jim-thorley

Hi Jim,

Thanks👍 for your feedback.

I also can't reproduce your problem. What you could also try is to delete the Cache folder. To do this, go to: C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Common. After deleting, this folder will be automatically recreated

Good luck,
Rob

thanks bol I done this and how bizarre the transition is being put in at the begin of the video but not the end same transition used at start and finish but only start one being put in export this makes no sense to me.

@jim-thorley

Ray.

thanks for you time and effort buddy its appreciated yes fully up to date on windows and net frame work the laptop got the latest firmware update from hp yesterday so new bios I don't change any settings for export not even proxie files as its not needed. thats what is getting me it plays fine in post and then not in export I reset the magix this morning and now its showing a red dot in some of the transitions after I play them .I will make a short video showing the process see if you guys can see anything. again thanks

@jim-thorley

Hi

Please do not keep quoting the same, and many, posts in your replies, I have hidden your last post which was a duplicate of a prior post and had no additional information.

It also looked as though you were uploading a video which was 'processing' for an excessive time, please keep video clips you post in a reply to 1 -2 mins long maximum.

I see you have now posted a link to the video on Youtube.

Hi john not experienced on forums sorry. I have followed everyone's suggestion's and done all the steps suggested and what I am finding is the first transition is being put in but even using the same transition at the end of the video that does not get put in at export, I just changed to the game drivers as suggested but still the same results if I use a fade out or cross fade they all work fine. I was going to try the new magix trial to see if that helped but it was saying it was replacing my existing program so never continued with it in case it took off my existing magix 2023 ?

@jim-thorley

Hi Jim,

You haven't written before that you're still working under Video Deluxe 2023. As far as I can tell from here, we're doing the tests in Video Deluxe 2025? I'll see if I still have VDL2023 on one of my other computers. I'll let you know if I can reproduce your problem in VDL 2023.

Greetings,
Rob

I've reproduced your problem. MMS 2025

I tried this the other day, I placed the two mentioned transitions between 3 separate objects so that the transition was 50/50 (crossfading) but couldn't reproduce the problem.

But looking at your video @jim-thorley it looks like the transition is just on the end of the mp4 & as the transition comes in it's going from black which it would if the transition was on the end with nothing on a lower track.

So I recreated the timeline, an MP4 with 2 images (png's) at either end, I added the 2 transitions to just the MP4 & I got the same incorrect result, the transitions didn't show in the final export.

(PS, I'm waiting for this video to load whilst writing this bit, it's very slow to upload😒)

@jim-thorley You can get around the problem by dragging the mp4 over the start & end objects to create a crossfade before applying the transition, that way it will fade one into the other, (that is what everyone else is doing when testing your problem)

but if you do want the transitions to fade from black or to black put a black test image behind the transition. There might be another or simpler way 🤷‍♂️
