slow down on exported music

I do narration, voice overs, announcing when I record and export the recipient complains of distortion as in slowdown, however, when I receive a recording from another party it plays fast? I've checked the settings but can't find the discrepancy?!

Do the samplerates match ?

Speedup - slowdown is often a result of a mismatch of the audio file samplerate and the program / audio card, samplerate settings.

Eg a 44.1 kHz audio may play faster when the program / audio card setting is 48 kHz, and vice versa.
