Should I upgrade to Movie Edit pro 18MX plus?

I'll be honest, I started with version 11 and upgraded to 14 and haven't been using for some while. The program is quirky and the supporting documentation is TBH barely adequte BUT when you get into it it works very well.

As an occasional user, who has a tendancy to forget stuff, should I upgrade? I returned to the version 14 a couple of weeks ago to simply change the orienttion of a .mov clip and gave up cause I guess I'm just thick.

What's the documentation like these days and is the Software a bit more intutative since my last purchase

Cheers

Hi

The simple answer depends on what sort of videos you intend to produce eg if you are looking at HD then yes you should upgrade as MEP MX handles HD much better.

Things to note on  upgrading and HD video:

   - MEP MX interface is completely different from 14

   - If you upgrade, go for the Premium version as this has all codec licensing included

   - If you get the download version it is in 2 parts - the first is the program and a few effects, titles, transitions etc.  The second part consisting of the remainder of effects etc, is downloaded via the welcome screen or under Help in the menu bar.

   - For HD you really need a computer with an Intel quad core processor with at least 4Gb of Ram, preferably 8 - 12 Gb, and a decent graphics card (Nvidia 3D enabled  if you want to do 3D)

   - Many laptops do not have sufficient power to do HD quickly.

   - If you have an underpowered computer and editing HD video then expect 'jerky playback' in the preview monitor, particularly at transitions.

The documentation is better than 14's was however it helps if you already have some video editing knowledge and experience.
