Shortcut stopped working when update failed.

I have music maker 2022 premium and saw there was an update to download so i did that. I clicked install and it started to install, i then got a message "some components that need to be updated are being used, close other apps and click try again". I had nothing else open and after a few clicks of try again i gave up and clicked cancel on the installation. Now my music maker shortcut has gone from the desktop and i cannot find the original exe file that the shortcut pointed to in the program files, infact it looks like a lot of the files in the music maker folder have gone. How can i get it working again?

@philthedoctor Restart your computer (do not shut it down and turn it back on, this isn't sufficient), then download the installer from Magix.com and try to repair/reinstall Music Maker.

Ah, thanks for the reply. I did a restart when it first happened but once i found it had not been cured i turned pc off as i had to go out. I will give the installer you mentioned a try anyway and see what happens. Thanks again.
