Upgraded to Sound Forge 16.1 from 16.0 and now some plugins will not load, such as Izotope Ozone 9 and others. Works fine with SF 15 and other apps. I want to downgrade back to 16.0. How do I do that?
I was having intermittent crashes with Neutron 2 Transient Shaper (Neutron 3 Transient Shaper worked fine) before the 16.1 update. Wondering whether I should install the latest update at all.
After installing the 16.1 update, I get a message when attempting to launch any iZotope plug-in that it has failed to load, and to make sure it's installed properly. Re-installed them, and still get the same error message. So far, this update seems to be quite buggy.

Rescanned the plug-ins under Options and it seemed to fix the problem.
Do a reset and re-scan of the plugins. File menu,Reset all preferences and cached data, check "delete all cached data values, let the program re-scan all your plugins, restart.
This is absolutely NOT resolved. I rescanned the plug-ins, and SFPro16.1 still crashed. I then Reset All Preferences and Cached Data, and upon using plug-ins, SFPro16.1 still crashes. The only thing that step did was DESTROY all my work in customizing SFPro.
Same issue here with some plugins. Reset fixed some (wiped out my personal list but I redid that). Slate VMB still has gui issues (knobs dont turn)- plugin alliance shadow hills comp no meters moving etc...
My experience with this problem (I make no claim that this will be others' experience)... I found that certain plugins crashed SFPro161 consistently. I rescanned, then I reset all settings. Neither of those fixed the problems. Then, I tried the VST2 version of a plugin that SFPro161 had been crashing when the VST3 had been opened. The VST2 version of the plugin opened and was successfully applied, although very slow. Then, I tried the same plugin in VST3 again, and it worked, at "regular" speed. This is just a data point; hope it helps as users and Magix pursue solution to this problem.
hi @walter-howerton...that has been my experience as well...for example: just to re-test the issue, i uninstalled versions 16.1 and reinstalled it, reset the preferences, etc....then tried to use izotope ozone 9 elements...it crashed each time...i then tried the vst 2, and it worked properly (it wasn't slow, as you mentioned, in my case, it worked and processed very quickly)...after using the vst 2 version, i could open and use the vst 3 version without issues...it's very strange...but this is the priority of the developers now as they are working on it and in the process of correcting the issues.
Sound Forge Pro 16.1 Build 11: VST Effects cut out the highlighted audio instead of performing the task it was designed for. This issue is new with the Build 11 update. How do I get back to 16.0
The initial or previous build(s) unpacked installers may still be be in your "Documents> Magix Downloads> Installationsmanager" folder. SFP-16.0 Build 79 was... usable 😬. If you do not have it, you can download the unpacked build 79 installer here .
This thread is about SF Pro 16.1 plugin issues, right?
My first problem with 16 locking up while scanning programs resolved itself, but not because I tried all the solutions recommended. Now, I'm having the same problem as a number of people here have noted. SF gives me an error message when I attempt to open almost any 3rd party plugin. SF also will not let me add a new path to the Preferences/VST plugins/Folders option. It simply starts to scan all plugins and then locks up. ?
