@jpetri1993 Can you already record external sources fine? Is microphone access enabled in your Windows security settings?

Recording internal sounds depends on your audio hardware or if the computer manufacturer has added the feature.

Press the Windows Key and R on your keyboard to open the Run window. Type mmsys.cpl and press Enter. This will open the Windows sound settings.

Navigate to the Recording tab. To be able to record your computer's audio you should have a recording source like Stereo Mix (usually accessible on Realtek audio devices) or What-you-hear (Soundblaster). Enable them, if they are disabled.

In case nothing is visible, make a right click on the white area and try to enable devices which are currently hidden.
