Several Instruments and EssentialFX do not install Correctly

I am running Windows 10 Pro
64 GB RAM
12 Thread Xeon
NVIDIA RTX 2060 SUPER
M.2 HDD (F:\ drive for installations)

Most of the software works, i bought the Humble Bundle and got all the Magix software with it, but I upgraded Music Maker to Music Maker 2021 Plus Edition because the Bass Machine instrument i ordered wasn't working and so I figured maybe i needed to upgrade to use more instruments.

That is not the case, Not only does Bass Machine not work but Drum Engine, Tiny Percussion, And EssentialFX do not work either and keep showing up in my Downloads Tab. I keep clicking Download and installing them, the installer says it's "Fixing" the install but doesn't and then I restart Music Maker and they all show up again in the Downloads.

Now i thought maybe it was because i am using a different drive letter for installations but DN-E1 installed just fine and I can use it and all the other Features seem to be installed though i have no idea how to check if they work, the only difference i see is there is now a Song Maker tab in the bottom bar area.

I am very new to this tool however I can't start exploring it until I am sure everything is working as it should be.
I can't change the installation folder because the software doesn't let you pick where things are installed unfortunately.

Also The loops I got with my purchase downloaded but the Loops that come with the free edition did not, and neither did the one i purchased.

So I just saw the note pasted at the top of the forum about all the bugs.

What is the recommended solution? How often do they come out with patches for these types of bugs?

Do they need testers? I would happily debug the code to get these things working. Is there a part of the forum where I can talk to other software engineers. I was tempted to stick this in a debugger and see what's going on during install to maybe write a patch of my own. I imaging it is something wrong with loading the proper files, looks like they forget to add DLL's (who do they have working on this software that can't write a simple test suite?)

Anyways, pretty disappointing that I paid money for Beta quality stuff.

@Levi

Hi

Magix are already working on the issues - a second patch is due out soon.

. . . . I upgraded Music Maker to Music Maker 2021 Plus Edition . . . .

Upgrading to the Premium version would have been a better deal - see the comparison chart here.

Did you install MMM 2021 letting it replace the older version or into a new folder location keeping the older version?

Did you get a new serial number for MMM 2021?

If you have 32 bit VST's that you wish to use, and 64 bit versions are not available, you need the VST Bridge function - this is included in the Premium version, however to add it to Plus you can purchase the bridge function in the Store.

. . . . Anyways, pretty disappointing that I paid money for Beta quality stuff. . . . .

The problem is that not all users are affected in the same way - this may be due to hardware, Windows versions and other software, eg antivirus protection, differences.

@johnebaker Thanks for the reply.

So when I say upgrade I got the Humble Bundle, and just installed the free version (it comes with a coupon for 40 bucks to buy stuff, i purchased an instrument with my coupon, the coupon didn't work so i purchased the Plus Edition just in case that is why it didn't work)

I'm just a programmer who has listened to All the techno and figured I'd make some and let my kiddos make their own music :D so I didn't think i needed the super pro version. and i would be way more pissed if i spent even more money for a product that only half way works.

I have only purchased instruments in the past day, so no old stuff, don't really know what a VST is actually. I haven't put in the time yet to learn all the things about making badass tunes.

I don't see how antivirus could affect this, is Music Maker hooking into any processes? I can whitelist stuff if necessary, but really they should have a test suite that checks for these things, it's entirely possible to test for all these issues. My hardware on this computer is only a year or two old and really I don't see how that could affect loading in plugins (i paid 40 bucks for one that isn't installing for example).

Instruments Do load, just not all of them, so that is another thing that is weird, they provide all these instruments themselves in the store so why do only a few of them work and not others?

Do i need to install an older version and not upgrade? Can I actually use an older version, do they license for a specific version only? anyways, thanks for responding man, it would be great if the people who actually build this software were on here. I did submit a ticket, so I am hoping that works.

is there a group of people who hack on this stuff to try to fix bugs that you know of? it seems like an easy fix, especially since you can view it loading the instruments that work. If this was OSS software i would spend the time to debug but if i can't drop a patch for anyone else it's not worth my time and i don't want to get sued for fixing someones software.

Oh yeah and I also have Acid Music Studio and all those instruments i bought for music maker actually work in ACID, i actually don't really know what the difference is between the two besides interfaces, but Acid seems to be working fine. But i paid like 10 bucks for that in the humble bundle so it would be great to actually be able to use software i spent a lot more money on.
