Settings do not remain as I made them

I want the save as directory to remain as MP3 and the recent directory to be where I have been placing the files after modification. It keeps reverting the the standard. How can I change this to remain where I want them?

Which version and number?

Pro 12 saves the file type, preset (or modified preset) and destination folder after an initial render is completed. I don't have AS 12 or 13 installed to try.
