Sending emails with Magix email account

Geoff-Latham wrote on 5/25/2021, 2:43 AM

It seems Microsoft are playing silly with emails to ‘Outlook’ accounts yet again.  We are receiving the same error messages, as below, to mail sent to all Hotmail accounts. It also seems raising a technical support ticket on Magix website is not possible!

I have exactly the same problem and it is so frustrating

@Geoff-Latham @richardspencer007

I have the same problem. Sending to Gmail works, Hotmail does not.

Worse, I don't receive emails from either Hotmail or Gmail.

Just to be clear, this is using the Magix Online World webmail account that comes with Magix web hosting service and On-line Album.

Did either of you raise a ticket with Magix?

Yes I have the same problem with the Magix webmail with the webmail hosting yes. Come to think of it I don't receive from hotmail either. Now I raised a ticket about 6 months ago and they seemed to pick it up. The problem appeared to be fixed but .....it has reoccured. Searched all over to try and find how to raise a ticket again but can find no way to do it. I refuse to trawl through FAQ's

Searched all over to try and find how to raise a ticket again but can find no way to do it. I refuse to trawl through FAQ's

No need to search all over, just scroll to the bottom of each page and click on Ask Support or do what is indicated.

Magix needs to know which product and hopes that you have at least looked at the FAQ's before submitting a ticket.

  • Click on Support at the top of the forum
  • Click on Show all products
  • Select Magix/Xara Online
  • Note that under Technical Problems/Error messages, there is a guide as to How do I contact Magix Support that you could have looked at.
  • Scroll down and click on Ask Support
  • Click on your Category, Web and Technic
  • Select Web Designer for want of a better title
  • Click on Search for other solutions
  • Put in Short Description which is actually the Subject line of your ticket that you want to submit - Webmail not working properly: cannot receive emails or send to Hotmail
  • Click on Find a Solution
  • Scroll down - click on the big blue button that says SEND A SUPPORT REQUEST
  • Describe your problem and click on Continue

The rest should be obvious.

Magix needs to know which product and that you have at least looked at the FAQ's before submitting a ticket.

I have submitted a ticket and referred to this post.

It's a bit "around the houses" to get to the SEND A REQUEST page but the route from John CB takes you there OK.
We've used Magix email for about 10 years but this email blocking, for microsoft email address, started to occur a couple of years ago and has been ongoing since. MAGIX customer support have always sorted the problem in the past but it usually takes a couple of weeks. We use Microsoft Outlook for emails and have no problem receiving emails only with sending emails to any microsoft email address i.e. hotmail, outlook etc.

We set up an outlook email address (e.g. silmilar-name@outlook.co.uk) which we can use when the issue raises its head again but it does seem a shame that Microsoft can block the Magix server like this.

Hi,

I received a reply from Magix that they are aware of the problem, that the System Administrator is working on it, but that it could take some time. I mentioned that this should be considered as extremely urgent. Undoubtedly, there are users depending on it for their businesses, so I find the reply unacceptable.

If you have not raised a recent ticket about this, please do so. Magix seems to move faster by the number of complaints received.

Hi all, Thanks for all the advice . I have complained and have also received a similar reply. Looking back the same thing happened and was rectified back in May of this year, so it has obviously reoccured.

Quick answer by Magix:

"Our system administrator is aware of the issue and are working on the fix."

Ok, let's hope again... 😒

Hi everybody,

As far as I can see the problem with the hotmail-adresses still isn't solved.

Can anyone tell me if there has been an update from the Magix support?

Thank you!

Geoff-Latham wrote on 6/22/2022, 1:29 AM

All works OK here at present but I did read on the web that Microsoft Outlook had an email 'outage' recently.
