Select Line in channel in Music Maker

Daniel-Dubravec wrote on 5/16/2022, 3:57 AM

Hi,

I purchased Magix Music Maker Premium to mainly record guitar via my Fast Track Pro interface. Unfortunately, unlike other daws, Magix doesn't allow to choose from input 1 or input2 on the interface (Cakewalk, Reaper, Garageband - they all can) and always records as input 1/2 which results to weak input (in stereo mode it only plays left or right). This is true for all available drivers using this interface (Asio4all, Magix Low Latency, Fast Track Pro Asio).

Can it be fixed?

And also, other side note, is it possible to set recording count in of metronome?

Again, this is something all other daws have.

Thanks,

Daniel

Hi

Check in the Program settings, Audio Midi tab, Advanced button - in the dialog that opens - that the sound card Line (Stereo) input is turned on - see example below for a Realtek audio chipset

This should then be selectable as an input for recording

@Daniel-Dubravec You can also try the Mono option in the recording settings.

For a count-in just leave the first bars empty and start at a later time with your song.

Ho John,

Thanks for response. I am using Fast Track Pro 64 bit Asio Driver.
When using it on other DAW (Tested Bandlab Cakewalk and Garage Band), it allows to see and choose between line in 1 and line in 2. See screenshot.

In Music Maker, with this Driver, I can only see in 1&2 combined:

Same is when I choose Asio4all driver:

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Daniel

Any ideas?

The settings you picture are for audio playback. Look at the recording settings. File menu>settings>audio recording.

@Daniel-Dubravec Have you tried to record in Mono?

@Daniel-Dubravec

Hi,

You don't need just channel 1 or just channel 2. You get 1+2. Your guitar is plugged into left or right ( 1 or 2) and if you record in Stereo, you will only get the channel to which the guitar is connected. Thus, if you want sound on both left and right speakers, on the recording screen, use Mono, not Stereo.

I have an M-Audio M-Track which is basically the same as your M-Audio Fast Track Pro.
