Scomparsi i Movie Templates dopo l'aggiornamento.

spinaz99 wrote on 6/13/2020, 10:17 AM

Ciao a tutti, ho acquistato l'aggiornamento a Video Pro X 12 perché dovevo fare un progetto abbastanza importante, sfruttando i 'Movie Templates'...

Ho aggiornato il tutto e... SONO SCOMPARSI i Templates!!! Non compaiono più nella lista dei template.

Ho provato di tutto, disinstallare e reinstallare i template, stessa cosa con il software...

Qualcuno può aiutarmi?

Grazie mille

Federico

Google Translate:

Hi everyone, I purchased the update to Video Pro X 12 because I had to make a fairly important project, using the 'Movie Templates' ...

I updated everything and ... THE TEMPLATES ARE DISAPPEARED !!! They no longer appear in the list of templates.

I tried everything, uninstalling and reinstalling the templates, same thing with the software ...

Can someone help me?

Thanks so much

Welcome to the Magix forums.

Exactly which Template(s) are you wanting to use but is now "missing"? Did you, when you installed the update, also select the option under Help>Install additional content>Download additional content, so ensuring ALL those elements, like Templates etc. are downloaded and installed?

Benvenuti nei forum di Magix.

Esattamente quali template vuoi usare, ma ora "manca"? Quando hai installato l'aggiornamento, hai anche selezionato l'opzione in Guida> Installa contenuto aggiuntivo> Scarica contenuto aggiuntivo, assicurandoti che TUTTI quegli elementi, come i modelli, ecc. Siano scaricati e installati?

I need 'Movie Templates' the ones that have some animations/transitions already set and you just need to 'populate' the timeline with your contents.

The installation program didn't ask me anything... BTW now everytime I start the program the 'Install extra content' window pops up.

I attach the window to show that 'Movie Templates' are correctly installed.

But in the templates list you can see they're not shown.

Thanks for your help

Now I found the directory where the templates are and added it manually as a link in the import folder.

Now I can use the templates, but this is not the way it should be....

@spinaz99

Thank you for the additional information. Thank you also for the screenshots, but did you notice in the first one, there is another entry called "Movie Templates" and it is ticked, so showing these are NOT installed? (There are also a couple of other items clearly not installed.

Why not simply click on "Continue" and allow VPX to complete the installation of those missing items?

The ones not sticked are the 'standard' versions, the PRO ones are installed. And I also tried to remove and reinstall those one. Now I can try again, but anyway it's strange...

I'll post the result...

Hi

. . . . The ones not sticked are the 'standard' versions, the PRO ones are installed . . . .

They unchecked options are part of the base set of extras that are common to both Movie Edit Pro (MEP) and Video Pro X (VPX).

There are no Pro version of the base set of extras, they are additional extras, for VPX, to be added to the base set.

All of the unchecked items need installing if you want the full compliment of effects, templates etc.

Hi, thanks for your comment, below my comments:

  • Sometimes ago the Magix support told me that if you have Video Pro X you can install only the 'pro' versions of extra content, infact few weeks ago when I had V11 it was working correctly this way
  • I installed everything now but the situation is the same, Movie Templates are not available, I somehow solved finding them in the directory and 'importing' them like a file... but this is not the way
  • I'm also having many problems in the playback and export of some video content, the movie is jumping back and forth unpredictably
  • I'm quite disappointed, I spent a lot of money for an upgrade that adds very little to the program but on the other hand introduces a lot of negative points, I have the feeling that Magix is not 'caring' too much about this product.
  • In the meanwhile I received from the official support with a very poor answer that shows very well that my problem has not been taken into account correctly...

VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED

Another comment: few weeks ago I was experiencing another problem, the slideshow wizard was not working at all, the problem was not solved by the support. I upgraded to the new version also to fix this, now the slideshow is working... but movie templates are gone... bah.

I think I will take a look at Da Vinci Resolve, free of charge...

Please comment, thanks a lot for your support

Next step will probably be to uninstall completely the software, clean up the system and reinstall from scratch, but this is the last attempt...

@spinaz99

Hi Frederico

. . . . I'm also having many problems in the playback and export of some video content, the movie is jumping back and forth unpredictably . . . .

Do you mean the playback in the Preview monitor repeatedly plays, freezes, misses a section, plays for a short while?

What is your computer specification and Windows version - see this topic for details of what is required ?

What is the video format and resolution and frame rate of the video that causes the issues?

. . . . I installed everything now but the situation is the same, Movie Templates are not available. . . finding them in the directory and 'importing' them like a file. . . .

This looks like a bug.

@emmrecs - Jeff do you have the same?

What is installed and visible in the Movie Templates pane in VPX is one item I downloaded from the Store, compared to MEP it looks like the upgrade has not picked up the VPX 11 templates which are in the folder:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Videocontent\Video Pro X\MovieTemplates

new templates are put into (on my PC)

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Videocontent\Video Pro X\ShopManager\4ea1c411a1099726eb4034b908210554\KzhSPZciTMGgYVmZnVVRGQ

and copying the original VPX 11 templates into the above folder does not work for me.

. . . . Next step will probably be to uninstall completely the software, clean up the system and reinstall from scratch . . . .

Use free Revo Uninstaller to ensure that all files and folders registry fragments that are left behind are uninstalled as well. Start the uninstall from Revo, this will take you to the standard uninstaller, once uninstalled Revo will ask you to do a scan for remnants, do this and delete everything it finds related to Video Pro X

Hi John.

Having seen the links you posted, I have a feeling that I actually don't have any Movie Yemplates in VPX12. This is everything I see now on the Templates tab:

(Sorry I haven't got time to follow up on this more extensively right away; I've heard back from Support about my problem with Export as HEVC on 59.97fps material, which they can't reproduce - although admitting they have received a number of "similar support requests" - and so have asked me to run their Syscheck utility. And then we're going out!)

Aha! In the thread about the new version, I mentioned that some users were missing Looks. That should have been Movie Templates, I think. You seem to be missing them. Did you look under the Import tab, maybe My Media? I think there was a time when they were there instead of under Templates.

Here is what I have in VPX11:

As John EB pointed out, they should now be installed under:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Videocontent\Video Pro X\MovieTemplates

Check there to see what you have.

Yes, the files are where you say ... Videocontent\... but they're not available from inside the program. You can go there and import them but it's not handy, you cannot preview.. etc.

Now I can uninstall and reinstall everything, but I'm afraid it will not fix the problem.

I think there is also a problem with the frame tables, I think that the program somehow loses them and you need to regenerate very often if you want a smooth playback, and it's not only the playback, the 'jumping' remains also in the exported material...

I'm seriously thinking to go back to V11.

My configuration is:

  • Intel i5 9600X

  • 32GBytes RAM
  • SDD M.2 NVme for programs

I think the problem is in the frame tables, when I recalculate them it seems to work properly..

BTW the support told me that they updated the software without any problem, but to be honest I don't know if they really checked 'my' problem of disappeared templates...

It really sounds strange to me that it's a problem of installation... I do feel it's more probable it's a bug.

@spinaz99 @emmrecs

Did you show Magix the list and point out that the Movie Templates are not there?

Reply back to the email from Magix with the screen shot. Insist that not only are they not there, but that this has been reported on the German forum and has been acknowledged by Magix with this link:

https://www.magix.info/us/forum/hintergrundvideos-in-vpx-12-pdf-tutorial--1247868/

Insist that they provide a patch immediately, within the next day or two, not next week.

Temporary workaround

Start a new project. With Windows Explorer, navigate to:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Videocontent\Video Pro X\MovieTemplates

The templates have the extension .mis. Select the one that you want and drag it onto the timeline.

@johnebaker

Do you see Movie Templates in your updated version?

Hi John

. . . . As John EB pointed out, they should now be installed under:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Videocontent\Video Pro X\MovieTemplates . . . .

That is not quite what I said - that is where they are installed, however they are not recognised by VPX 12.

New templates are installed in (on my PC)

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Videocontent\Video Pro X\ShopManager\4ea1c411a1099726eb4034b908210554\KzhSPZciTMGgYVmZnVVRGQ

Copying the existing to the ShopManager folder does not work they are still not recognised.

Since then I have been uninstalling and found an issue, which may or may not be related to this - I also had Video Pro X4 installed for a startup, response time speed comparison - the 12 crawls compared to 4 !

This installed 32 bit effects and templates which may have messed up the VPX 12 upgrade.

I am currently cleaning everything out that is related to VPX.
