it worked up until last week haven't used it since went to use it today and tried to use it but it says the file format can not be read and the special offer keeps popping up every time it says that the computer is exactly the same was as i left it no new updates or anything any ideas

Hi, welcome to the MAGIX forums.
What format is the file that cannot be read? If you're not sure, download and install the free MediaInfo, https://sourceforge.net/projects/mediainfo/ point it to one of your files, using the Tree view, and copy and paste the details to any reply you make here.
If you have a file available that does not give the "unsupported format" message, follow the same procedure with MediaInfo and that file; comparing the two may give us some clue about what is the problem.
