Saving files got much slower

Hi. An issue started yesterday and I am not sure how to resolve it. I use Sound Forge Pro 14 to record weather forecasts for radio stations. I recently upgraded from 11 to 14. Everything was fine until yesterday when saving .mp3 files went from 1-3 seconds to 10-15 seconds or more. When there are days I have over 100 feeds to record, that adds up. Anything that may be causing that? I did not change anything as far as plug ins or anything else. One day it was very fast, the next, not so much. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Was a Windows Update installed yesterday? You can look up the in the windows settings which updates were installed on which date and uninstall them.

No. Last update was September 8

Are you having problems with other applications? If you didn't change or install something and there weren't updates then maybe some hardware could be failing like your hard drive or RAM or network equipment?

Another idea: Was the Mp3 export quality changed to a very high quality that needs more time to export?

No everything is exactly the same. I had tried the SF 13 trial and the same thing happened. I uninstalled and re-installed and it would work great for a week or 2 and then slow down. Its going to be a pain if I have to keep doing that. All other programs work fine and SF 14 works fine except for the save.

EDIT: The SF13 trial was on a completely different computer and did the same thing. Windows 10 64 bit.

Just tried my old SF 11 and the save is instantaneous almost

That's odd. Did you already look into this thread from the last year?

Thank you, SP. I had not seen that, but none of it had applied. BUT...from the bag of cliches, I "turned it off and turned it back on" and it seems to be okay again. The only thing I can think of is my power went out in the middle of working the other day. Something must have been knocked out of whack that got fixed with a normal reboot. Thank you for the time and suggestions

Did your computer turn off when your power went out? Or is it a laptop? It could be that Windows switched to a power saving modus after your power went out which means that processors would run much slower to save energy. That could explain why exporting took a lot longer.

Third-party codec packs can muck things up in Vegas, I would assume the same with Sound Forge if K-lite codec pack or others were installed.. There is a way to lock-in the Sound Forge Fraunhofer MP3 encoder, I will look for the info on this, which I recall having,. somewhere.
