Hi, I have Magix Photostory Deluxe2020 dlm.exe. I will be working on a slideshow for my fathers 90th birthday and I have two question.

Can you finished slideshow be shown virtually to family living out of town?

Does the slideshow have to be save in different format, size for viewing either on a projector, verses a large screen or an ipad?

Hi

. . . . be shown virtually to family living out of town . . . . Does the slideshow have to be save in different format, size for viewing either on a projector, verses a large screen or an ipad? . . . .

A simple question which leads to a complicated answer

That entirely depends on what the playback device the video is going to be played on, how the video is going to be delivered, and/or the playback device used.

  • Over the Internet

    export to MP4 file format at an appropriate resolution for the images used and upload this to YouTube or Vimeo - I would advise keeping the video private - requires a computer or laptop with Internet connection

  • By memory stick (thumb drive)

    a MP4 video file is the most universal format- requires a playback device eg computer/laptop/iPad capable of playing video - export resolution as above.

  • By disc

    create a DVD or Blu-ray disc within Photostory - requires a DVD or BD player or computer/laptop with appropriate software to play the disc.

I would suggest you read the PDF manual that is available under Help, the exporting and disc creation topics are described in it.

@carmen-w

Welcome to the Magix forums.

To enable others to view your finished slideshow you need to Export it. The format you choose for the export very much depends upon how your intended audience will view it. If you go to File>Export you will see the various possible formats you can select from, in addition of course to the main "Export" button (top right of the workscreen) which gives you yet other export options, including ones designed for showing on a computer, or in various iOS and Android formats etc.

If you decide that you actually need the show to be viewable in a variety of formats, this is entirely possible; you will need to export your project once to each selected format.

What you cannot do is simply give somebody a copy of the "Project" (.mvp) file, and hope that they can view it! it simply won't work!
