Samplitude Music Studio 2015 Upgrade cost to 2016?

GRB wrote on 11/11/2015, 4:11 PM

Any Veteran Magix users familiar with how much an upgrade from one Music product to the newest realease usually is? I am wondering specifically about if upgrade my new Music Studio 2016 to Samplitude Music Studio 2015 for the stated $69 cost, then how much the upgrade may cost from there to the 2016 version when released? ..... sure its very close to release since I already have the standard 2016.......

Maybe I'm better off to just wait, but I really like the instruments that are in the 2015 version (especially the Celtic Harp and World Flutes) and don't want to miss out on them if wait for 2016 and they don't carry over...... Hopefully they will, and be added upon! :) Maybe even the others I really would like to have included, String Ensemble, Pop Brass! hint hint like I sent to them ;)

Appreciate your experiences of the past on how great of deals are made for upgrade paths, sales, special offers, etc to current users when a new product year is released.... I am new to Magix, so don't know myself yet, but do know for other products this is common........

Cheers and may the Music Season be 24/7/365 !

Hi Greg,

I don't suggest that you "upgrade" from Music Studio 2016 to Samplitude Music Studio 2015 just to get a couple of instruments, unless you really, really want them. Normally, the instruments show up first in MusicMaker and the same ones also show up in Music Studio and Samplitude Music Studio. If you miss an upgrade, then you miss out on the instruments and possibly some synths and effects. Once you have them, they should always be available from one version to the next.

You can check to see what is installed here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\MAGIX Services\MxSynth

I have:

Accordion
Analog Synths
Bass Machine
Celtic Harp
Choir
Cinematic Synth
Drum Engine
Electric Piano
Folk
Jazz Drums
Pop Brass
Power Guitar
Rock Drums
Soundtrack Percussion
String Ensemble
Urban Drums
Vintage Organ
Vita
World Flutes
World Percussion

and for some reason, Century Keys doesn't show up. I have to fix this.

In MusicMaker, under the Instruments tab at the bottom of the screen, there is a button that says "More." Click on it and you will see the instruments that are available for purchase separately for 30Euros (I can't get a dollar quote).

So, it's up to you. Getting Samplitude Music Studio 2015 now before it disappears will give you the 2 instruments at the same price as or less than buying them separately, and you will get Urban Drums and Analog synths if you don't already have them.

Confused? I probably didn't help much.

Lmao John! You did go a few different directions with that one, but I hear ya.... I know there is not real answer, but I was just fishing for some experienced insight with Magix and how they work on these kinds of things. I actually sent the same questions to Magix support and heard back once already. I guess they offer a free upgrade period of 30 days if you just bought a product that was replaced by a newer version release. I have not yet got any pricing feedback or instrument selection hints from them hint....but I asked of course... along with a hint to release date.... lol, a guy can ask right! ;)

I'm sure its close as I already have the Music Studio 2016 installed from an online special buy I found recently. Its great and all, but I already knew I wanted a Samplitude Version when I first started reading up on Magix a few weeks ago in discovering them for first time. The Trial version of the 2015 Samplitude MS is pretty cool too! Very Excited to see what comes new with the 2016 release!!!!!

thanks agian for your comments, I do appreciate them! Man, you have so many cool instruments!  I feel same way, so am confused on what to do also! :)
