Samplitude music studio 2014 shoudl I uninstall it? Driver ASIO problem and crashing

lyn-s98 wrote on 10/10/2015, 6:50 AM

keep getting message to install the ASIO Driver system /effects/monitoring and input monitoring (REC M )

i have treied:    Going into setting etc (or pressing 'y' key) to select the ASIO driver and going into playback and checking off the appropriate buttons but it makes no difference. Given that every time I record somethng it crashes anyway, and I cannot seem to comtrol or understand the markers which appear evert time I blink and will n ot go away after that...  wondering whether to just uninstall and forget all about smaplitude. I don't want to give up on it because I have the chance for 24 bit recording (or do I..  on a home PC? or is there just not enough memory...?)  anyway though, I got the upgrade form using Magix Music Maker which I used semi successfully for a couple of years .. although 'live ' real time vocals always lost time half way through tracks and were not faithful to what was sung.. latency and then some which used to cause a LOT of hard work in editing and much heartache if my singer did a perfct take!!  Advice please. I just want to get on with it but cannot seem to get along with Samplitude at all. Is it just a bad mnatch for me and home PC?

Hi,

Which ASIO driver are you talking about. As far as I know, there isn't one that comes with SMS? Did you install one? If so, which one? Do you have ASIO4All installed?

What are you trying to record from - mic, midi in, on screen keyboard? And how? What is your set up?

Do you have an external interface? If so, what?

Did you download and install everything under Help, Download instruments & sounds?

Did you upgrade to Windows 10? If not, what is your Windows OS?

"I cannot seem to comtrol or understand the markers which appear evert time I blink and will not go away after that..." Can't help you without details. Did you read the manual? Did you look at any tutorials by Kraznet (YouTube) about Samplitude (the pro version of Samplitude Music Studio)?

HI I gave up on it having seen on the net so many ppl havign same difficulties. Thank you anyway. I don't wnat to upgrad eto windows 10 and I was using a USB mic Samson COU1 and yes I read the manual. And no drivers just ticked (and tried unticking) the ASIO driver box in settings - tried every setting available just inn case but . have given up. Now having major problems with Music Maker 2015. I am sure it my fault. But again the problem seems to be widespread judging by amount of people posting they are having trouble tryign to export tracks that have used any midi instruments ..  I used to have Music Maker 12 and I never had that problem! I used to happily take advantage of the VST instruments, drums or whatever and then master, mix down .. and bingo..  a lovely MP3 out into the world to go wherever.. but now.. I downloaded Music Maker 2015 and the midi tracks will not export and I am told they cannot (here on this forum someone else posed the question and got the answer back they cannot get decoded and go outside of Magix..  . I'm thinking that's a tiny bit insane? I must surely have got this wrong. Please tekll me I'm being stupid and I'll be so grateful and then just tell me how to get the damn sounds out
