Rewrite Option and Encoding Buttons

I'm burning a DVD-R.  There is a prompt that comes up right before the burn begins, where I have to chose different optiions of a rewrite:

It's entitled:  VTS_01_1.VOB - Should the existing file be used for the film 'Impressions of Cuba?

  • Rewrite chapter menu and chapter information
  • Rewrite film menus and navigation structures

And the buttons at the bottom are:

"Encode all"   "Encode"   "Use"   "Use all"   "Cancel"

What do the two Rewrite choices mean and what is the significance of the different button choices?
Thank you,

Hi

You will only see this message when you redo a DVD or BD disc after the intial encode.

By selecting any of the Use options the VOB (video) file referred to is not re-encoded, this may result in changes you have made not being updated in the VOB.

In theory any changes you have made should be automatically re-encoded, however experience has shown that sometimes they are not.

I always recommend clicking Encode All - this ensures that all changes you have made are applied.
